Young Peoples Centre, Portsmouth

Paulsgrove is a deprived and somewhat run down area north of Portsmouth, a community broken from its sea faring history and now decentralised and trying to refocus its energies. A series of gloomy 1960s building form an informal courtyard which we intend to inject with new energy by mixing functions and activities that will draw young people from the surrounding schools and keep them interested and fit. Sports facilities and a Health centre, all based around a Juice bar and Internet café in new uniting blocks. A series of large-scale signs and Billboards will graphically change the exteriors of the existing buildings and bring the centre to the centre of it community.
